Aprons
Each of these aprons speaks for itself. The materials are vintage and invented aprons and fabrics, salvaged from thrift stores. I lithographed the imagery from my drawings to aluminum plates and printed onto various old and acquired fabrics. My thread is waxed linen. I put the last few aprons together during a pivotal time in American history: the naming to the Supreme Court a man who stood accused of sexual violence towards women. As I sewed, I listened, and found my own mystery in the timing: my aprons spoke to the gentleness of women, and the rage of the bullying male.
